Tasty Tuesday: Pizza

About once a week my hubby makes pizza.  Great for the nights that I am tired from work, it is quick, easy, tasty, and pretty healthy too!

Ingredients:
  • Betty Crocker Pizza Mix (just add water)
  • Any pizza sauce
  • Mozzarella Cheese or a non-dairy cheese if you wish
  • Any toppings you want.  We use: artichoke hearts, spinach, tomatoes, jalapenos, and ham(lunch meat type)
Step 1:  Make the crust following the package directions.
Step 2: Spread the sauce on the crust.
Step 3: Sprinkle the cheese.
Step 4: Place the toppings on the pizza.
Step 5: Follow the package directions and bake (aprox 20 min.).

We enjoy having our pizza with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and with a side salad.  ENJOY!

Carnival Cruising

Hubby and I LOVE Carnival cruises, and when you live in Florida they are so inexpensive!  Today he called and booked a week trip for Spring break.  We are so excited!  We love almost everything about traveling with them and found out that this trip will be on the upgraded 2.0 funship.  This means it has newer restaurants and more on board activities.  We can't wait to try the hanging obstacle course!

If you are trying to select a vacation I would highly recommend Carnival if you enjoy relaxing, a casual atmosphere, and lots of fun.

Out of 5 stars I give them....

Fun Friday

This Friday was so fun for my K students!  We had our Boosterthon fundraiser and also a Kazoo performance.  Friday was national Kazoo day.  If you want to have your child or class make their own instrument just follow these directions:

Materials:
Toilet paper tube
Markers
Waxed paper
Rubber Band

1.  Have your child use markers to decorate the paper towel tube.
2.  Cut a small square of waxed paper, just large enough to fit over the end of the tube with an inch or two to spare.
3.  Put the rubber band around the excess waxed paper so that it is stretched tight across the opening of the toilet paper tube.
4.  Hum into the open end of the tube.

Married Life

I have been married for almost 7 months and LOVE it!  All of the disagreements we had planning the wedding melted away once we got hitched.  You always hear that the first year of marriage is rough.  However, so far we have been blessed with smooth sailing.  I think in part this is because the first year I moved here was difficult and full of transitions.   Moving from California to Florida was actually more of a shock than going from single to married!

The things that have held us together have been:
 1.  Making time to pray together every night.
 2. Spending at least a 1/2 day a week relaxing or having fun, even with our crazy schedules.
3.  Me remembering not to be "bossy".
4.  Jon learning to keep his cool and not get in an argument with me.

Tasty Tuesday: Curried Chicken and Vegetable Stew

I tried this recipe last week and it is so yummy, it is a classic chicken stew with a kick!  It is easy to make too since it uses a slow cooker and only has 5-6 ingrediants.

1 16 oz package of frozen stew vegetables (I use fresh potatoes, onions, and carrots instead)
4 large chicken thighs
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 10.75 oz reduced fat cream of chicken soup
2 tsp of curry powder (you can leave this out, or add more)
1 TB snipped cilantro (optional)

1.  Place vegetable in the slow cooker.  Top them with the chicken and sprinkle with the black pepper.  In a small bowl stir together soup and curry powder.  Pour over the chicken and vegetables.

 2.  Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6-7 hours or on high-heat for  3-31/2 hours.  Remove and discard chicken bones.  Sprinkle each serving with cilantro if desired.

First Blog

I decided that I needed to start my own blog today.  Facebook can only take so much of me, and sometimes I want to write more.  I decided to start this blog so that I can share a day in the life of a newlywed, Kinder teacher, overall creative person...me!

I plan on trying to start out by posting a "Tasty Tuesday" post where I will try new recipes.  I am also going to aim for a "Fun Friday" and post a creative or fun thing that I do with my class or hubby.

So excited!
